REGULATIONS
Haydn Online Music International Competition (HOMIC)
A. General Information
HOMIC is an international online music competition open to classical musicians of all ages and nationalities. The event takes place entirely online and does not require travel.
B. Application Process and Fees
- The preliminary round is free of charge.
- Candidates selected for the Final Round must pay a non-refundable administrative fee of €87.90.

Participants may apply in the following areas:
- Solo Performance (all instruments and voice types)
- Composition
- Conducting
- Chamber Ensemble
E. Age Groups
Applicable only to solo instrumentalists. Age is determined as of 15 June 2025.
- Group A: up to 7 years old
- Group B: 8–9 years
- Group C: 10–11 years
- Group D: 12–13 years
- Group E: 14–15 years
- Group F: 16–17 years
- Group G: 18–20 years
- Group H: 21–25 years
- Group I: 26 years and above
F. Video Submission Guidelines
- Participants may choose their own repertoire.
- Minimum video length: 1 minute
- Maximum video length: 25 minutes (excerpts will be used if longer)
- Performers (soloists/ensembles): must be visible throughout the recording.
- Conductors: must be shown from the waist up.
- Composers: audio only is acceptable; score optional; live or digital performance both allowed.
- Upload your video to YouTube or another platform. Please set visibility to “unlisted” or “public.”
G. Evaluation
- A panel of distinguished musicians (performers, educators, and specialists) will review all entries.
- To ensure fairness, jury names will remain confidential during the competition.
- Jurors will recuse themselves from evaluating their own students.
- Each category will be judged by no fewer than three experts.
- Jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
H. Scoring System and Awards
Participants will receive a score between 0–100 points. Awards are assigned as follows:
- Absolute Winner: 97–100
- Platinum Award: 90–96
- Gold Award: 80–89
- Silver Award: 70–79
- Bronze Award: 60–69
- Honorable Mention: below 60
I. Prizes and Recognition
- Absolute Winners will receive:
- Interview publication in the Universal Music Society’s MAESTRO Magazine
- Video and photo featured on the competition and Society websites
- Customized posters for personal promotion
- Printable diploma
- Platinum Laureates will receive:
- Video link listed on the HOMIC website
- Photo published in the results section
- Printable diploma
- Gold Awardees:
- Name listed in the results
- Gold diploma (digital format)
- Silver and Bronze Awardees:
- Listed in the official results
- Digital diploma
- Honorable Mentions:
- Name included in the final results
- Digital diploma
All award recipients may request diplomas for their teachers.
J. Legal Notice and Consent
By entering the competition, participants grant the organizers the right to use submitted videos and photographs for promotional purposes. The organizers may crop or edit content for publication.
The competition organizers reserve the right to adjust the regulations if necessary. Any changes will be promptly communicated to registered applicants.
